Nazareth is the boyhood home of Jesus. The city is located in the lower Galilean hills overlooking the Jezreel valley. The present-day population exceeds 80,000. The city has an Arab and Jewish population. An upper city of Nazareth is called today Nof Galil, View of the Galilee, and is a Jewish city bordering is lower in elevation predominately Arab town of Nazareth. Nazareth is where Jesus grew up and was the home of Mary, his mother, and his stepfather, Joseph.
